Silas Archie
Silas was a conscientious
Objector.
Silas was drafted into the army in 1917 when he was 23 years old but he refused because he was a conscientious objector.
He was used as a stretcher bearer.
Silas got hit by shrapmill in the middle of no-man's land.
Silas was known as a coward before his stretcher bearer days.
Silas was sent back to either england or new zealand on an ambulance ship to recover after he was wounded by the explosion.
He lived on a big farm
with his parents

They were both conscientious objectors because they believed in religions.
They were both new zealanders.
Only silas went to war and archie didn't.

Archie was born in 1881 at saddle hill near dunedin on the 13th of december.
He was head ploughman at gladbrook station in 1902.
When archie was thirty five years old in 1916 he was called for military service.
Archie went to a military camp in trentham near wellington.
Archie was also known as a coward.
Many years before the war of 1914 - 18 I had reached the point of view that war - all war - was wrong, futile and destructive alike to victor and vanquished.
